Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Environment Canada has reported a special weather statement for Metro Vancouver, with “more snow on the way for the South Coast and Vancouver Island.”

Due to a pacific storm, cold arctic air will lead to intense snowfall beginning Thursday afternoon on the island, making its way to Vancouver by Thursday evening.

A mix of snow and rain is in the forecast from Friday to Sunday. Regions in higher elevations should expect more of the white stuff, whereas lower elevations will receive rain – and slush.

If the storm progresses, Environment Canada will update their alert to a weather warning, so be sure to follow the forecast for more details in the coming days.

And if you do plan to drive in the snow, please only do so if you have winter tires. Unless you want a repeat of Monday morning.
