The holiday season is quickly approaching—which means the social calendar will be filled with Christmas parties and other festivities.
That’s where Operation Red Nose comes in. The road safety campaign ensures party-goers don’t drink and drive by providing them with a safe alternative to getting home.
The program kicks off Friday, November 25th and runs until December 31st.

Volunteers will meet up with people who are out at pubs or Christmas parties and drive them home in their own car.
The free-of-charge service reduces the risk of impaired driving and is even more convenient than a cab because you won’t have to leave your car parked somewhere overnight.
Operation Red Nose has a new mobile app available for free on the App Store and on Google Play to connect you with a volunteer who can drive you home.

The service is provided in 12 communities (not including Vancouver) across B.C. this holiday season.
This year, the service will be available in Abbotsford‐Mission, Burnaby, Chilliwack, Delta‐Richmond, Kamloops, Langley‐Surrey, Nanaimo, New Westminster, North Shore, Prince George, Ridge‐Meadows, Tri Cities and Williams Lake.
The program highly relies on volunteers among each city and while it is free; donations are encouraged and go directly to non-profits within the community.
