North Vancouver RCMP are echoing warnings from Vancouver Police Department and West Vancouver Police Department alerting the public about Donald Robert Quinnell.

He has been involved in a recent series of confidence frauds targeting elderly victims. Between mid-July and as recently as last night, September 4th, multiple incidents have been reported in North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Vancouver.

Donald Robert Quinnell, of Chilliwack, is arrestable for at least 9 offences in North Vancouver and police believe he may strike again soon.

In addition, Mr. Quinnell is also arrestable on an outstanding Canada-wide warrant for Breach of Probation.

He is described as:

  • Male Caucasian
  • 6 feet 1 inch tall
  • 190 pounds
  • Short, brown hair
  • Brown eyes
  • 52-years-old
  • Light to medium complexion
  • May be wearing glasses and/or ball cap
  • Well dressed/groomed

Police say he approaches seniors in a very welcoming manner, and often targets his victims in grocery store parking lots or outside residences.

Mr. Quinnell might say he has locked his keys in his car, or even helps with groceries to gain the trust of his victims. Once he has their trust, he works his way into their car or home, and then quietly steals their wallets, purses and other valuables.

If anyone has any information about Donald Robert Quinnell, please call 9-1-1 immediately. Anyone who may have been a victim is asked to call their local police department to report it.

Over in Surrey, police are warning the public to stay away from 35-year-old Thomas Gabriel Saul, who has been the target of recent shootings.
