A sinkhole opened up in New Westminster Friday morning causing heavy traffic delays.

The sinkhole is the result of a water main break. It’s located on the border of New Westminster and Coquitlam, at the Braid and Brunette railway crossing.
According to reports, one vehicle found its left wheel stuck inside the sinkhole.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route until the issue is fully resolved.
