Whales, dolphins, and porpoises will be shagging without the Vancouver Park Board nosing in for just a little bit longer.
A motion put forward by Vancouver Park Board commissioner Sarah Blyth failed to pass this Monday night. The motion was the last step needed to pass a final bylaw amendment that would make cetacean breeding at the Vancouver Aquarium illegal, and it was narrowly defeated in a 4-3 vote. This was a last order of business for a Vision Vancouver-dominated board that will soon be sworn out with Non-Partisan Association members filling up the VPB next week.
The NPA has no immediate plans to revisit the ban.
