Most Popular Canadian Songs of The Millennium Are From B.C.

The CBC asked Neilsen Soundscan to compile a list of Canadian songs which received the highest radio rotations. The result was a list of the 100 most popular Canadian songs of the millennium (from Jan 1, 2001).

Bands based out of the beautiful British Columbia claim high popularity for radio rotations over the last 15 years. Nickelback and Hedley each have seven songs in the top 100 list. Nickelback’s lead Chad Kroeger also has two songs in the list as a solo musician. Theory of a Deadman, hard rock band from Delta, also made the list with one track.

Other popular Canadian songs from B.C. artists include Nelly Furtado, Michael Bublé and Carly Rae Jepsen.

The playlist is available on YouTube via CBC Music.
