Planning to ride the SkyTrain to or from downtown Vancouver this weekend?
The service will halted between Patterson and Royal Oak stations after 12am on Saturday, September 10th (technically on Sunday, September 11th at 12:01am) due to construction at Metrotown Station.
If you take the SkyTrain on a regular basis, you may have noticed the work being done at the Metrotown stop.
Construction crews will lift the second half of a massive 120-ton overhead steel structure during the station closure, meaning the project is nearly complete.
The renovations to Metrotown Station include new escalators, stairs and elevators to improve customer access, more access to and from the platforms, updated safety and security designs, and improved bus connections.
If you do plan to use the SkyTrain this Saturday night after the service closure, there will be frequent Shuttle Buses running between Patterson, Metrotown and Royal Oak for those who wish to travel to Metrotown Station, eastbound beyond Patterson Station, or westbound beyond Royal Oak Station.
