Winter in Metro Vancouver may have been mild so far, but snow is potentially in the forecast for next week.
Environment Canada’s most recent prediction for Vancouver reveals that chillier weather and possible flurries could hit the Lower Mainland soon. Prepare your waterproof coats and winter boots because B.C. could be getting snowy!

Winter In February
The Farmer’s Almanac predicted B.C. to have a warmer-than-usual winter this year, and they certainly weren’t wrong. Certain regions like southern B.C. were also expected to have above-normal precipitation, as well as flurries. And although Metro Vancouver hasn’t seen any of those yet, with the coldest periods having already passed, the next chance for snow to show up is in February, the following coldest period.
Moreover, Environment Canada meteorologists predicted southwestern B.C. to have a “near normal” winter this year.
Is Vancouver Getting Any Snow?
Quite possibly. Environment Canada’s forecast is calling for showers throughout Thursday night until Saturday, with a mix of sun and cloud during the day on Sunday.
After that, temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 1°C, bringing rain showers or flurries. Following that is Monday with rain showers and flurries, as well as on Tuesday and Wednesday. Metro Vancouver could soon be getting quite slushy with the potential rain and snow in the coming week.
For now, Environment Canada notes that there is a 60% chance of rain showers on flurries on Monday and Tuesday night. These nights will hit a low of 1°C and 0°C.
