Man’s Wheelchair Gets Stuck In Tracks; Hit By Train And Killed In Chilliwack


A train hit two pedestrians in Chilliwack this past Saturday, leaving one dead and the other with multiple injuries.

The person who died was a man in a wheelchair, and the other person who got injured was a woman trying to help him. The man’s wheelchair got stuck in the tracks, and the train was unable to stop before it was too late.

The incident occurred around 5:30PM, at the crossing of 9000 block of Broadway Street. The train was westbound.

Chilliwack Tragedy

Chilliwack RCMP reported on the incident, stating that the man in the wheelchair died at the scene after being hit. In addition, the woman who had attempted to help him was also hit, and left with non-threatening injuries.
