In the wake of the Jian Ghomeshi scandal, Canadians are not taking well to further news of men remaining unchallenged and being rewarded for their sexist attitudes and physically abusive behaviour towards women.
Last weekend, a social media campaign was started with the Twitter hashtag #KeepJulienBlancoutofCanada to spread awareness about online petitions to ban Julien Blanc from coming to Canada.
With over 63,000 signatures and petitions started by actress Maria Del Mar, and broadcaster Kate Wheeler, the campaign was a success when this past Tuesday, Blanc’s company, Red Social Dynamics, removed upcoming Canadian dates from their 2015 schedule.
It is unclear whether Blanc or another instructor would have landed in Vancouver in March, April, and August, but it is clear that Canadians don’t support pick up artists that suggest as dating tips, emotionally abusing love interests or the head on dick move (in where you put a woman’s head to your crotch).
