The annual Ships To Shore festival in Richmond’s Steveston neighbourhood will feature Japan’s spectacular “King of the Sea” ship.

The majestic four-masted, 363-foot Kaiwo Maru is one of the world’s largest tall ships.

Japanese for “King of the Sea”, the Kaiwo Maru can be viewed from the landside by visiting Richmond’s Garry Point Park between Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017 – Monday, May 8th.

To allow for a closer look, free public boarding of the Kaiwo Maru will be offered. It will take place during the Ships to Shore King of the Sea Festival on May 5th and 6th.

However, boarding passes are limited and should be booked as soon as possible. Up to six passes can be booked per household in advance online.
