Mother Nature’s Stairmaster, better known as The Grouse Grind is preparing to open its trails for the 2015 season! The 2.9 kilometre trail which usually takes anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours to complete will guarantee to make you break a sweat as you overcome it’s 2,830 stairs!
The Grouse Grind will officially open on Friday, May 8 and welcome geusts from from 6:15 am – 7:00pm daily on Grouse Mountain. Highlights of the Grouse Grind include:
- 2,830 stairs
- elevation gain of 853 metres (2,800 feet)
- 2.9 kilometres in length (1.8 miles)
- a summit of 1,127 metres (3,700 feet)
The Grouse Grind will host several events throughout the 2015 season such as the Whistler Water One Climb on June 7, Seek the Peak on June 14, along with multiple grind challenges on June 21 and September 13.
Typically people of all ages participate in this hike, and this attraction receives around 100,000 people per year! If you haven’t checked it out already, be sure to make this year the year you do! Asides from the Grind, Grouse Mountain is beautiful during the summer and has a lot to offer.
