Vancouver’s bustling Granville Strip has a new addition. GPO Bar + Kitchen is an Irish-inspired eatery and watering hole with a relaxed atmosphere.
It has taken over the old Donnellan’s Chipper, another Irish eatery that had more of a fast-food appeal.
The new spot has a wicked menu of whisky, bourbon and classic Irish dishes. They’ll be offering brunch seven days a week until 3 p.m. with a full Irish breakfast including Irish rasher benedict on soda bread.

For entertainment, they have live music on weekends and an array of board games, colouring pages and books.
Also, stop by the bathroom and you’ll see you a fun review framed and posted on the wall.
And in case you’re wondering, their name stands for General Post Office, which was a famous landmark in Dublin. It gives a nod to the uprising that ultimately led to Irish Independence.
