Spotted at a few local fashion shows recently is DAMN Couture.
The uprising brand seems to be a clothing line composed of a fusion of street fashion and an all-encompassing positive mindset.
DAMN, the acronym for Drive Away My Negativity, was founded locally in Vancouver in hopes of encouraging Vancouverites to stay positive and provide our city’s stylishly driven individuals with clothing’s that will exuberate their confidence and help them get through the day.
Basing their philosophy off of the mind-body concept, DAMN Couture believes that regardless of whether one sides with Cartesian dualism, Physicalism, Idealism, or other ideologies, there is another important factor that is also a composite of a human being – our attire. Respecting and acknowledging the significance of both the mind and the body, they propose that our daily attire plays a crucial role in our well-being. Fundamentally, our selection of outfits affects our mood on a daily basis. As depicted in their logo, DAMN Couture hopes to drive the three essences of life; one’s mind, body, and attire to be free of negativity.
As they are a locally founded brand, they hope to give back to the community not only by having their apparel be canvases for positive energies, but also by serving as a platform for Vancouver’s struggling young artists to showcase their work. They are currently looking for talented local artists to collaborate with for their new collection – a great opportunity to help a local brand grow.
