Free Transit Service On New Year’s Eve

Tranlink Hours Extension

New Year’s Eve revellers can leave the transit pass at home and spend all their change on tequila shots. As in previous years, TransLink is making transit service free on Monday evening (December 31) after 5 p.m. The free service ends Tuesday morning (January 1) around 5 a.m.

Metro Vancouver’s regional transportation authority says SkyTrain will operate for an extra hour to serve New Year’s Eve party-goers. The last departures from Waterfront Station will be at 2:05 a.m. for the Canada Line to YVR-Airport station, 2:15 a.m. to Richmond-Brighouse, and 2:16 a.m. for the Expo and Millennium lines. The last SeaBus will pull out of Lonsdale Quay at 2 a.m. and Waterfront at 2:22 a.m.

**Free fares start at 5 p.m. Dec 31 and go until 5 a.m. Jan 1.**
