Coquitlam RCMP have launched a review after shocking footage surfaced online capturing officers dragging an elderly man down a set of stairs.
On Thursday night, officers were called to a Best Western Hotel and Conference Centre after receiving reports of conflict during a strata annual general meeting.
According to Mounties, an elderly couple refused to leave the meeting and officers got involved.
In the video, a RCMP officer is seen grabbing an elderly man who is lying on the ground and proceeding to drag him down the stairs while a young child in screams in the background.
According to the superintendent in charge of the file, Sean Maloney, the couple was arrested at the scene and later assessed by Emergency Health Services.
In addition to reviewing the footage, the Coquitlam RCMP are investigating what happened at the meeting before their arrival.
Following the review, a report will be sent to Crown with the assessment of possible criminal charges against the couple.
