The FIFA World Cup Trophy Is Coming To Vancouver And You Can See It For Free

Vancouver has already been treated to many exciting FIFA World Cup celebrations as buzz around the event continues. But soccer fans will have something even bigger to look forward to before the matches begin.

The legendary FIFA World Cup trophy is coming to Vancouver very soon, where everyone will be able to see this piece of ultimate soccer history.

ON DISPLAY

The trophy normally sits in Switzerland’s FIFA museum. Although it has made other trips on special occasions, its visit to the West Coast is a super exciting opportunity for Metro Vancouverites to get up close (but not personal) with the trophy.

“This is a full-circle moment for me– and a chance for the community to begin celebrating what’s to come,” said Victor Montagliani, the FIFA Vice President.

Next week, the trophy will be on display at the Italian Cultural Centre. Don’t expect it to be there for long, though– visitors will have only two hours to get the chance to view it on August 26. The event plans to be free and family-friendly, inviting the community to celebrate the countdown to the FIFA World Cup. Just be sure to head early as the viewing opens at 9:00am and closes at 11:00am.

A press release from the City of Vancouver said that this public viewing is “part of the lead-up celebrations for the FIFA World Cup 26™.” Vancouver has already put on other celebrations for the upcoming global soccer event, such as when they unveiled a one-year-to-go countdown clock in June 2025.

For fans of the FIFA World Cup, getting to see its trophy is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Getting tickets to the matches is another story entirely, though.
