Returning to the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre is the beloved Vancouver Art Book Fair!
This is Canada’s longest-running international art book fair where you can find amazing artists from both the Canadian and international scene. With galleries and publishers, this is one event that’ll have you appreciating all that goes into creating art, as well as the book that houses it.
VANCOUVER ART BOOK FAIR
There’s so much at the Vancouver Art Book Fair that makes it so special. With so many artists and so many art books to flip through, enjoy, and really take in, you’ll be surrounded by nothing but spectacular art.
They come in so many different production types, too. Expect the classic DIY zines to museum catalogues. It’s very rare to have such a vast array of book types in one area, and the chance to discuss them with their publishers, editors, and artists makes them even more amazing.
This year’s edition includes nearly 100 exhibitors from both Canada and beyond. Nearly a third of them are new to the event, which means if you’ve been before, then there’s certainly something new for you to see here.
EXHIBITORS
A couple of the new exhibitors you can meet include Nothing New Projects from Canada, which is an independent risograph print and publishing studio based in Ottawa, and ODD ONE OUT from Hong Kong, whose gallery focuses on illustration, graphic arts, and printmaking.
As for local highlights, you can expect new publications from Hazel Meyer, Paige Gratland, and Cathy Bubsy. Returning galleries like The Polygon Gallery, grunt gallery, and Or Gallery will also be there, as well as some new institutions like Griffin Art Projects and VIVO Media Arts Centre.
The Vancouver Art Book Fair is totally free to attend. Just show up to the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre from July 4-6 and be ready to enjoy some beautiful art and art books.
