The world famous Titanic steamship will be making an appearance in Richmond, with a Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition arriving this summer.
The international exhibition about the Titanic will be arriving at Lipont Place Arts Centre in Richmond June 23rd. The exhibition has been shown in places such as Paris and Stockholm, and has been seen by over 25 million visitors worldwide.
The event explores the Titanic’s human stories, which are told through more 120 authentic artifacts and and extensive room re-creations. Additionally, the exhibition commemorates the centennial of the maiden voyage and of life’s fragility.
Guests get to travel back in time and experience one of the world’s largest ship in all its glory.
Each visitor will receive a replica of a boarding pass and assume the role of a passenger. Next, they experience a chronological overview of the incredible ship.
The overview includes the construction, life on-board, the tragic sinking of the ship, and recent artifact rescue efforts.
Some of the artifacts that have been recovered include items that provide a haunting, emotional connection. One example is perfume from a maker that was travelling to New York. In addition, they recovered china etched with the logo of White Star Line. Also, they include pieces of the ship itself, and much more.
In short, The Titanic: The Artifact exhibition will also have re-created accommodations and provide visitors with the ability to get up close with an iceberg.
Titanic: The Artifact exhibition is produced by Premier Exhibitions, which is an Atlanta based company. Their goal is to inspire audiences through compelling stories that utilize objects and artifacts.
