The 16th annual Surrey Vaisakhi Parade returns for another big event on Saturday, April 22nd, 2017.
It embarks and concludes at Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. again this year.
The parade pays tribute to the harvest and commemorates the creation of the Khalsa by hosting one of the biggest parades worldwide.
Today, the Khalsa still remains a central aspect of Sikhism. Vaisakhi is celebrated worldwide to recognize the evolvement and importance of this heroic group of people.
The Surrey Vaisakhi Parade it one of the largest parades of its kind outside of India. Furthermore, it connects over 200,000 people per year.
Free food and drinks from hundreds of local residents and businesses is being handed out throughout the day.
As well, a variety of music, performances, and live entertainment will highlight the day.
Parade Route: The Vaisakhi Parade is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 a.m. at the Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar, located at 12885-85 Avenue. The Parade will also conclude there at approximately 4:00 p.m. (see map below for parade route).
