One of the city’s most popular winter traditions; free ice skating in the heart of downtown Vancouver is set to return this winter and everyone is buzzing with excitement.
The Robson Square Ice Rink is slated to open Friday, December 1st, 2017 and host free skates daily until Wednesday, February 28th, 2018.
This winter will mark the ice rink’s 9th consecutive year of family fun. As winter approaches Vancouver, the skating rink comes alive with families and loved ones. The annual event has become a tradition that helps welcome the holiday season in the 604.
Admission and Pricing
Skating is free for all ages. Those who own their own skates are welcome to use them. Skate rentals are $4, and rentals end 30 minutes before closing time.
Furthermore, helmets are mandatory for children 12 and under. Robson Square Ice Rink will offer rentals and accept cash only.
There will be a concession stand on site where you can grab a snack or sip on a warm drink. Menu items will become available closer to the opening date.
The ice rink will welcome skaters daily from 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9:00 a.m. through 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
It’s important to note that the Robson Square Ice Rink is not a full-size rink. With that being said, the attraction is highly popular and therefore very crowded in the evenings. For a smoother experience, we recommend going for a skate as early as possible.
All skill levels are welcome to join and take in the beautiful winter atmosphere.
