Richmond Maritime Festival

All aboard! Locals are once again invited to celebrate Richmond’s historical connection with the sea at the 16th annual Richmond Maritime Festival, a free family event at a National Heritage Site.

Taking place on Saturday, July 27th and Sunday, July 28th, 2019, this two-day festival will feature a combination of music, art, performers, storytellers, tasty treats, and activities for the entire family to enjoy.

For the little ones in your family, they can take part in a number of hands on activities from boat building to pop-up puppets!

Of course the main draw of the festival is the beautiful boats you’ll see along the 600 ft. dock, with the opportunity to board impressive tall ships like the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain.

This year, for the first time, the Richmond Maritime Festival will offer special evening outings out on the water. Guests can choose from a Tall Ship Gun Battle or a sunset dinner cruise aboard an authentic paddlewheeler.

Tall Ship Gun Battle

A thrilling Tall Ship Battle featuring the Lady Washington and the Hawaiian Chieftain will take place off the shores of Garry Point Park. You’ll marvel at booming cannons, close-quarters maneuvers, and a taste of 18th century life aboard tall ships.

This tour takes place on Friday, July 26th and Sunday, July 28th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Tickets are now on sale for $80.

Sunset Dinner Cruise

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing, this paddlewheeler tour is calling your name. Guests will enjoy a three-hour evening cruise along the beautiful Fraser River board the M.V. Native, an authentic replica of a paddlewheeler, or sternwheeler that plied the Fraser River in British Columbia from 1863 until 1921.

The tour takes place on Saturday, July 27th from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Tickets for this delicious buffet are $130 and can be purchased here.
