In Japan, cherry blossoms are known as sakura, which are a special flower to the people and the country. The cherry blossom signifies a time of renewal and the cycle of life.
The Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival is set amongst 255 Akebono cherry blossom trees at Garry Point Park, on the mouth of the Fraser River.
Moreover, visitors will also be able to take in traditional Japanese music and dance performances, delicious food options and fun activities as celebrated in Japan.
Garry Point Park is located on the edge of Steveston Village, which makes it perfect to bike to. Organizers will also be providing a free Wheel Watch to lock up your bike.
If you plan to drive, consider carpooling, as parking will be limited. There is no onsite parking at Garry Point Park available this day. However, there will be parking nearby the park.
