Need to brush up your dancing skills this summer? Well then, mark your calendars and slip on your dancing shoes in June for Let’s Hear it for Yaletown.
In collaboration with the Vancity Hot Jazz Society, Yaletown is hosting five days of FREE outdoor jazz music and dance lessons to delight your ears and heat up your happy feet.
Yes, for five whole days you can add to the excitement of summer by taking a dance break or listen to live music in one of Vancouver’s most beautiful public squares in the afternoons between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm and in the evenings between 5 pm and 7:30 pm.
For jazz fans, Let’s Hear It For Yaletown offers the sounds of some of Canada’s best jazz band musicians including the Terminal City Brass Band, Josh Roberts Quartet, Brad Shigeta’s Swingtime Band, and many more!
From New Orleans party jazz to blues and swing, there will be no shortage of musical styles to enjoy. Even non-dancers may find themselves tapping their feet to the wide array of musical tones while enjoying themselves at the neighbouring patios.

For those who want to get jazzy and experiment with new moves, free dance lessons will be provided between sets. Tap, turn, swing, and twist to the sounds of saxophones, trumpets, pianos and march to the beat of your own drum in a judgement free zone with your neighbours and community.
