Join BC Wildlife Federation for our FREE workshop for kids and families, Meet a Wildlife Expert! This event is taking place on Facebook Live on August 13th at 3 pm.
RELATED: Climb for Alzheimer’s 2020
At the workshop, you’ll meet Devin Manky, Wildlife Manager, at the Grouse Mountain Refuge for Endangered Wildlife. You’ll also meet Grinder and Coola, the two orphaned Grizzly Bears who have grown up at the refuge.
Manky will share Grinder and Coola’s stories on how they were orphaned in the wild, rescued and ended up in the care of the refuge, as well as facts about Grizzly Bears in general.
In addition, Manky will talk about what the refuge staff have learned by raising Grinder and Coola and how this can be applied to future orphaned cubs to help them return safely to the wild.
Stay tuned to the end of the talk for a special guest appearance by one of the Refuge’s Owl Ambassadors! There will be a Q&A period at the end to answer all your questions.
You can RSVP for this event online.
To meet other wildlife, check out the Vancouver Aquarium’s newest otter friend, Joey.
