Festival of Lights To Transform VanDusen Botanical Garden

It’s one of Vancouver’s most magical Christmas displays—the Festival of Lights will take over the VanDusen Botanical Garden starting December 1st.

The month-long celebration transforms the garden into a winter wonderland with over one million Christmas lights.

A carousel ride will be added to the festivities this year, with a free ride included in the admission cost.

Stroll through the garden and enjoy dancing light shows, photos with Santa and much more.

Food trucks will be onsite serving up delicious food to help keep you warm—including Cin City Donuts, Roasted Italian Chestnuts, Truffles Café, and Community Pizzeria. Be sure to stop by Santa’s Kitchen or Frosty’s Patio & Bar.

There will be plenty of live entertainment—look for roving Scandinavian gnomes or reindeer throughout the shows!

The Eiffel Tower will be back this year, where guests can take pictures and then post to social media with the hashtag #JardinsDeParis for a chance to win two tickets to visit Paris.

Light a candle to fill the picturesque grotto in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Members of the Vancouver Public Library will be reading festive stories inside the glass house and there will be a sound house for kids to make music with recycled instruments.

Like all the previous years, there will be plenty of selfie and photo opportunities throughout the garden where you can get a festive shot for Christmas cards, or your Instagram.
