Richmond’s Doors Open

Seeking exclusive access to heritage sites? How about a behind-the-scenes tour of a museum as an exhibition is installed? You can do so plus more at the annual Richmond Doors Open 2016 weekend.

The event will return to Sea Island City for its 9th annual year on Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5 to provide local residents and visitors a free look inside some of the city’s most popular destinations.

Doors Open has become a popular event across Canada and encourages local communities to unite and engage through heritage, arts, and culture.

This year’s event will kick off with an opening celebration on Friday, June 3 at the Minoru Chapel and Pierrefonds Gardens from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The evening will include live music, light refreshments, children’s crafts, and community displays.

Following the kickoff, Doors Open Richmond will run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on both June 4, and 5. Participants will be able to explore 42 historic sites, galleries, places of worship, and galleries across the city.
