Victoria is a great place for a holiday escape from Metro Vancouver, and Butchart Gardens is a must see destination on that trip.

This is especially true during the Christmas season, especially at night when it becomes filled with magical elaborate decor. It is easily one of the best places to visit in Canada during the holidays.

Experience the ‘Twelve Days of Christmas’ decorations, with sparkling lights at every corner as the garden is filled with spectacular illuminations.

Along with the illuminated gardens, guests will be able to visit the Coffee Shop to warm up with a hot chocolate and enjoy gingerbread by the fire. The Dining Room is also open for those that are interested in festive dining or high tea.

Admission is approximately $33 for adults, $16 for ages 13 to 17, $3 for those aged 5 to 12 years. It’s recommended to reserve time slots online.

Unfortunately, there are some events that will not take place at the Gardens this year. This includes the ice skating, the Snowflake Exchange, Festive Brass, Traditional Carollers, and the annual Light Up.

The gardens will also be closed on Christmas Day and not open to the public before 3:30 p.m. on all other days.
