It doesn’t matter whether you’re a total science head or only know that the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. Either way, Science Slam is the perfect place for everyone to head to and delve into the realm of science.

The TELUS World of Science, Science World After Dark is holding Science Slam! on May 17th. It’s the second annual Grand Slam, bringing together winners from the 2017-2018 season to compete for the title of Canadian Science Slam Champion.

What Is Science Slam?

It’s a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting science communicators in communities across Canada. Bringing together researchers, students, educators, and communicators to share their science in a creative slam poetry style.

It doesn’t matter what the slam is presented in – whether it be a poem, a song, a dance, or a talk, there’s endless possibilities. The only rules: slams have to be five-minutes long, and no slideshows are allowed!

Tickets are $29 plus GST, and if you want to catch the feature Humpback Whales film in the OMNIMAX Theatre beforehand, you can upgrade your ticket to a combo. Tickets are available for purchase here. Guests must be 19+ to attend.
