Beer | Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival

The Vancouver Craft Beer Week Festival returns to the PNE Grounds this weekend from Friday May 25th to Sunday June 3rd, 2018.

Over the past 9 years, it has evolved from Canada’s first-ever craft beer week into a cultural engine that showcases music, food, art, and craft beer at events across the city, from the last weekend of May to the first weekend of June every year.

Art | Shigeru Ban

Offsite: Shigeru Ban is a new exhibition at Vancouver Art Gallery’s Offsite location (1100 West Georgia Street) featuring the full-scale version of renowned Japanese architect Shigeru Ban’s Kobe Paper Log House, on view May 11 to October 8.

Playland is here! Get prepared for a summer of fun by purchasing a One-Day admission or Season Pass online or at retailers. If you buy online, you’ll save up to $5 compared to purchasing at the gate.

Admission to Playland gives you unlimited access to over 35 rides and attractions, including three of the newest rides!

Acrobatics | Aeriosa

Aeriosa’s breathtaking aerial productions combine the techniques of dance and rock-climbing, using rope rigging systems to find new movement possibilities in the realm of suspension.

Catch it in Vancouver this weekend at the Scotiabank Dance Centre. Artistic Director Julia Taffe’s latest creation brings Aeriosa back into the theatre.

Night market | Shipyards Night Market

Visitors will find fresh food, locally made products, musicians, art and entertainment every Friday night. The festivities in the Square kick off at 5:00 p.m. on Friday nights. In addition, there is live music until 10:00 p.m. on the Shipbuilders’ Stage, showcasing talent from all over BC.

Presenting the paintings of Emily Carr with forty-eight photographs by US-born photographer Mattie Gunterman, this exhibition draws on the Gallery’s deep holdings of Carr’s work to reflect her engagement and affection for BC’s landscape.

The wildly popular market always features incredible, mouthwatering cuisine, as well as live performances on their 50 foot stage.

Art | Definitely Dali

Opened in 2005, Chali Rosso Art Gallery focuses mainly on works from Picasso, Monet, Matisse, Degas, and more. The Gallery is holding a free Salvador Dali exhibition starting this May up until September.

As part of the Definitely Dali Project, two iconic Dali sculptures will be arriving at the Chali-Rosso Art Gallery in Vancouver this summer: Woman Aflame and Surrealist Piano.

Theatre | Expressions Theatre Festival

From the whimsical fun of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to the frontier hijinks of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, this year’s festival boasts a bevy of beloved theatre classics, re-imaginings and an original new work that highlight such topical themes as self-image, family dynamics, and gender roles.

Film | WET

Set during the height of Canada’s involvement in the Afghanistan War, this raw and immersive play examines love, abandonment, and the dire cost of combat. Directed by Chelsea Haberlin, the story follows a Canadian soldier who returns home to her husband and young daughter. She finds herself abandoned by the country she served, in a near-catatonic state, trapped in a basement suite with her unemployed and intimacy-starved husband.

Fair | Ladner May Days

May DaysLadner May Days returns to Memorial Park from Friday, May 25th – Sunday, May 27th, 2018.

The fair will once again feature live bands, carnival rides, a colourful parade and much more for the entire family to take part in.

Yoga | Date Night Yoga

Stir up some romance at this couples yoga event at Stretch. Enjoy a night with live music, wine, and plenty of relaxation.

Exhibit | Haida Now

Food | Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival: Coquitlam

A family event that has something for everyone, the festival will be travelling throughout Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, stopping in Coquitlam this weekend on May 26th.

The Food Truck Festival will have over 22 hand picked food trucks with a focus on diversity. Not only that, but there will be an artisan market that will feature local merchants.

Junk | Surrey Pop-Up Junk Drop

Do you have an access of junk lying around, but don’t want to take an arduous and costly trip to the dump?

The City of Surrey allows residents to dispose of their unwanted items completely free of charge at the Pop-up Junk Drop events. To gain entry, however, you must present a valid government issued identification that proves you are a Surrey resident. No valid ID means no entry.

Comedy | Colin Up Close and Personal

This very special evening includes two improv sets starring Colin playing with members of the VTS ensemble followed by a Q&A session with him where audience members ask the questions. There are also a very limited number of tickets (only 40) for an exclusive, post-performance reception* where guests will personally meet, and socialize with Colin in the Improv Centre’s Neil Macrae Bar & Lounge. That evening the Bar will be introducing ‘The Colin’ – a cocktail specially designed in Colin’s honour based on his favourite alcoholic beverage – red wine.
