The fifth annual Make Music Vancouver Festival is back, and returns to the streets of Gastown on June 24th.
Beginning life in Paris in 1982, Make Music has grown to become an international event for breakthrough artists, musicians and fans, with more than 150 cities taking part worldwide.
The festival made its way to Vancouver in 2011 and transformed Gastown’s streets into a vibrant mix of musical stages and festival dance floors. Last year’s festival was ‘one of the best editions’, so says Make Music Vancouver’s Sarah Carty, with over 20,000 people in attendance, enjoying the sounds from some of Vancouver’s finest undiscovered talent.
We can expect more of the same on Wednesday, June 24th between 5 – 10pm when Make Music takes over Gastown once more, transforming the picturesque streets into a glorious celebration of live open air music.
Make Music Vancouver is all about celebrating music in all its diversity and bringing people together in a shared love of music. All musical genres are welcome, with over 100 acts from across the musical spectrum taking part, playing live in the streets.
As always, the festival is entirely free and run solely by volunteers – from organizers to musicians – donating their time and talent for the love of music and community!
Well, more than 100 artists for free certainly isn’t too bad at all!
