What are two of the top things you think of when it comes to Christmas activities? Surely, light displays and outdoor skating is on the list. This Christmas, the Butchart Gardens in Victoria will have both.
From Sunday, December 1st to Monday, January 6th, the Butchart Gardens will be transformed into a winter wonderland in honour of the “magic of Christmas.”
Butchart Gardens is already known for being one of the must-see gardens in British Columbia. Imagine all of it decorated with Christmas lights.

According to the Butchart Gardens, several light displays this year will also depict scenes from The Twelve Days of Christmas.
In addition, they’ll also be a 5,000 square-feet outdoor skating rink! (They’ll be under Christmas lights, of course.) Admission for the rink ranges from $3 to $5, based on age, with skate rentals at $3.

Furthermore, carolers and brass bands will be scattered throughout the garden, helping you get into a cheery, holiday spirit.
In terms of food, the on-site Dining Room restaurant will be featuring special afternoon tea and dinner menus.
There will, of course, also be a coffee shop with warm drinks to keep you warm in between activities. And children 12 and under will be able to trade in a paper-made snowflake they make for a cup of hot chocolate!
What a wonderful time of year.
