When & Where

Saturday, June 6, 2015 from 9:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. The street festival will take place on Hastings Street between Boundary Road and Gamma Avenue.

What To Expect

A huge, one-day street festival filled with events and local food vendors.

Family Fun Dash

The day kicks off with the Family Fun Dash where families dash down Hastings Street in a three-block race, starting at 9:15 a.m. The start line is at Madison Avenue and the finish line is at MacDonald Avenue. All proceeds benefit the Burnaby Firefighters Charitable Society. Sign up and get ready to hear the cheers of merchants and spectators as your family team rushes to the finish line!

Following the Family Fun Dash, the Hats Off Day Parade starts at 10 a.m. This 10 block long parade begins at Beta Avenue and proceeds down Hastings Street up to Boundary Road. You can expect plenty of glitz and glam parading down Hastings with the theme as “Hollywood” this year!

Street Festival

Hang onto your hats for one of the biggest, most popular community festivals in the region. Reaching from Gamma Avenue to Boundary Road, Hastings Street will be shut down to traffic, and filled with excitement, music, street performers, kids activities, delicious food, yummy treats, and much more. With multiple activities and attractions for all ages, each block has something to experience. The Heights Merchants Association is proud to present “Hollywood” as this year’s theme.

Show and Shine

The Show & Shine will begin at approximately 11:00 a.m., immediately following the Parade. As in previous years, the Show & Shine takes place along Hastings Street between Willingdon and Gamma Avenues. Once the Show and Shine begins, volunteer judges will be inspecting the vehicles after they are parked on Hastings Street. Judging is for fun, and trophies will be awarded to the top category winners.
