According to the alert, amounts ranging between 5 to 10 cm are expected.

A low pressure centre over the Washington Coast will track towards Vancouver Island this afternoon.

Moisture associated with this system will interact with the cool airmass in place over the Lower Mainland.

Wet snow over the western Fraser Valley this morning will continue into this evening, but the snow may become mixed with rain at times.

Total snow amounts of 5 to 10 cm can be expected before the low weakens.

Motorists are warned about quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, it’s recommended to turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
