Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson & Betty Gilpin Are Filming a New Movie in Vancouver

Andy Bernard, Cookie Lyon and Debbie Eagan walk into a bar… That’s what we’re in for as Ed Helms, Taraji P. Henson and Betty Gilpin unite for this new Netflix comedy film. The buddy cop story is written by Shane McCarthy and directed by Michael Dowse (Fubar, Goon).

The movie is about a Detroit cop trying to clear his name with the help of his girlfriend’s young son. Principal photography began in April and the movie is expected to shoot in Vancouver until June 4.

It also stars Terrence Little Gardenhigh, King Bach, RonReaco Lee, Andrew Bachelor and Jesse Hutch. Also starring is local young actor Chance Hurstfield known for his roles in Vancouver-filmed shows like Ghost Wars and A Million Little Things.

Ed Helms is undoubtly known for his comedic role of Andy Bernard in the US version of The Office. He also starred in The Hangover trilogy and Tag.

Taraji P. Henson is known for her role of Cookie Lyon in Empire as well as Person of Interest, Boston Legal, Hidden Figures and What Men Want.

Betty Gilpin is known for playing Debbie “Liberty Belle” Eagan in Glow. She also played Dr. Carrie Roman in Nurse Jackie and will be starring in the 2020 reboot film Grudge.

Chance Hurstfield is only 12 and has starred in Vancouver-filmed shows like Ghost Wars and A Million Little Things.
