The Ampersand Bistro in downtown Vancouver is rather unique.

It’s a swanky eatery that specializes in pan-Asian tapas, and dim sum, and cocktails. (The “ands” is perhaps why it’s called Ampersand.)

It opened back in April, taking over the space of the shuttered Mosquito dessert bar, and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Besides creative cocktails, they are whipping up delicious dim sum, including pork shumai, beef shumai, har gow, and a variety of dumplings.

Other bar bites include crispy salmon skin chips and some healthy options like their salmon soba bowl with egg ribbons, roasted egg plant, edamame, spiced cashews and Japanese pickles.

If you’re looking for a new Happy Hour spot, you’re in luck. They have deals daily from 3pm to 6pm and 10pm until closing.
