The report ranks the happiness levels of 156 countries by getting people from different nations around the globe to rank their lives on a scale from 0-10.

The rankings touch on a number of issues. The three sets of factors used in this year’s report are:

  • Links between government and happiness
  • The power of prosocial behaviour
  • Changes in information technology

This is the 7th World Happiness Report. The first was released in April 2012 in support of a UN High level meeting on “Wellbeing and Happiness: Defining a New Economic Paradigm”.
