If you’re going to speed, just be prepared to pay up. On Thursday, the Burnaby RCMP Traffic Unit was out in school zones across the city.
Officers caught 22 drivers speeding well in excess of the 30 km/h speed zone, with the average speed being 58 km/h.

The highest speed recorded by traffic officers was 69 km/h.
While it’s only the first week back to school, plenty of drivers have been pulled over already for speeding.
