A plane carrying around 400 people from San Francisco to London was diverted into Vancouver late Monday night.
Crew members reportedly had felt sick, which prompted the emergency landing.
The British Airways A380 aircraft – Flight BA286 – touched down at Vancouver International Airport around 11:30pm. Emergency vehicles rushed 25 people to the hospital.
Michelle Kropf, a spokeswoman for British Airways, says the company is investigating the issue. Initial reports state smoke inhalation as the cause of the illness, but there has been no confirmation by officials.
Luckily, the 25 ill crew members have all been treated and released from the multiple hospital locations around the lower mainland in which they were brought to, health officials have confirmed.
Passengers have been provided with hotel accomodation and are able to re-book their flight to London at the British Airways check-in desk at 10:30am today.
