Hundreds Unite To Honour Brandon Bassi at Candlelight Vigil in Delta

Hundreds of mourners gathered at North Delta Secondary School on Sunday night to honour 19-year-old Brandon Bassi who succumbed to his injuries last week following a fatal single vehicle car crash on May 18.

The young man was a passenger in the vehicle. News of his passing has left the North Delta community in disbelief.

Brandon Bassi recently graduated from NDSS, and was a first-year SFU student in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

At the vigil, friends, family and members of the community united in support of the Bassi family and shared their favourite memories of the young sports star.

Throughout the evening, numerous people took turns sharing stories about Brandon with overlapping characteristics about his charisma and charm.

His coaches and teammates spoke to Brandon’s leadership, how he always lead by example and showed up when they needed him the most.

Bassi’s family and friends shared memories of his positivity, and the lengths he would go to to ensure those around him were happy.

Within 19 years, the young man built a legacy that the community will not soon forget.
