In the mood to have your funny bone tickled? Going to a comedy show can be a great alternative to the usual round of bars and restaurants, whether for a date or an evening with friends. Laughter is the best medicine and all that.
For those who remain booze-inclined, it’s generally available at these places, too.
There are a ton of places to see a comedy show in Metro Vancouver. Here’s a roundup of just a few of the places where you can have a good laugh.
On the first Tuesday of every month, you’ll find BlanketFort Storytime at the Astoria. The name is pretty spot-on: The whole thing takes place inside a giant blanket fort. Nostalgia and comedy! You can’t go wrong. Located at 769 East Hastings Street.
Head to Yagger’s Downtown to see Chug-A-Lug Comedy. It’s run by the same people that perviously put on Mermaid Club Comedy at the Railway Club. Located at 433 West Pender Street.
The Columbia, in New West, is home to the Lafflines Comedy Club, meaning there are multiple shows for you to go and see each month. As well as the weekly Lafflines Comedy Slam, there are sets by individual comedians. Located at 530 Columbia Street.
This PoCo venue allows you to enjoy sketch shows, musical parodies and more over dinner. That is, as long as you can stop laughing longing enough to eat it. Located at 2616 Shaughnessy Street.
