A BC photographer captured some striking photos (pun intended) of this weekend’s thunderstorm.
Over 1000 lightning strikes were recorded between 9:30 pm and 1:00 am Sunday in just the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley alone, according to Environment Canada.
Some of the strikes resulted in wildfires, although thankfully none were serious.
According to Global News, thunder was visible from across British Columbia, including the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley, and Okanagan.
The photographer was Doug Clement, a lifetime resident of Victoria, British Columbia. He’s been a photographer for over 30 years, specializing in panoramic and HDR photography.
Here’s a look at some of his photos from this weekend, which all show still lightning.
