For every time we here “we had a good meeting” it’s usually followed by a week of bad meetings between the NHL and the rugged union. The season is nearly months over due and there seems to be little to no progress in getting a a hockey season.
Having no hockey affects me, it affects you, and now it affects Barack Obama? Although he hasn’t been spotted at any Caps game to support the home team, the re-elected prez made a solid speech yesterday calling out both sides and reminding them they’re fighting over dollars that WE provide them!
“My message to owners and to players is, `You guys make a lot of money and you make a lot of money on the backs of fans, so do right by your fans. You can figure out how to spread out a bunch of revenue that you’re bringing in, but do right by the people who support you. And I shouldn’t have to be involved in a dispute between really wealthy players and even wealthier owners. They should be able to settle this themselves. And remember who it is that’s putting all that money in their pockets.”
