A Surrey man was shocked when he opened up the meal he ordered via SkipTheDishes.
Frank Fourchalk ordered a White Spot meal through the food delivery app in September. He also ordered a slice of cheesecake he said he was most looking forward to, but what he got was unexpected. The cheesecake looked like it had already been eaten.
“I can’t believe what I saw. Basically, half a cheesecake that someone had eaten,” Frank Fourchalk told Global News.
The White Spot general manager apologized immediately and offered Fourchalk a $20 gift card. But they said someone likely dropped the piece during transit.
After the complaint, staff at the restaurant put a slice of cheesecake in a container and dropped it to compare appearances. They took a photo, compared it to Fourchalk’s piece and found the two looked similar. (No photos were made available, unfortunately.)
Fourchalk, however, said he’s not convinced and will not be ordering from SkipTheDishes again.
The delivery company eventually responded to Fourchalk’s complaint, offering a $20 voucher as well.
For Whitespot, they said, “regardless of the cause, we are taking this opportunity to evaluate our packaging protocol for take-out meals.”
What would you do if your meal was delivered half-eaten?
