It’s every Star Wars’ fans favourite pun of the year: May the Fourth be with you. But more than that, it’s a day to celebrate the massive franchise’s fans and all the happiness it has brought people.
No matter where you first started with Star Wars– the prequels, sequels, or even today’s television series’– you’ll definitely want to enjoy the day at the H.R. MacMillian Space Centre at their May the Fourth Be With You: Family Day event. Join them in a galaxy not so far away as they celebrate May the Fourth Be With You.
MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU: FAMILY DAY
This family-friendly sci-fi event will be filled with fun and educational activities for all ages. The H.R. MacMillian Space Centre also invites everybody to dress up as their favourite character from the Star Wars’ franchise. You’ll get a chance to snap a photo with members of the 501st Legion Outer Rim Garrison. Meet Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, and others!
New at this year’s celebration will be Vancouver’s Styrogirls! Known for their legendary Styrofoam cosplays and creations, Tarrin and Sorrel (the Styrogirls) will be celebrating 10 years of Star Wars-inspired guerrilla art! Their art will be scattered all throughout the Space Centre as part of the scavenger hunt; find them all to win a prize!
And it wouldn’t be a visit to the HR MacMillan Space Centre without learning a bit about space. With live demos exploring the real-life “Star Wars” planets scientists are discovering, as well as a planetarium show of your choice, you’ll come out of this event knowing much more about the universe than you did before.

Tickets are $25 for youths (before tax, 18 and under), and adults are $28 (before tax). You can also bundle your ticket with a Standard Annual Membership, so you can pick that up if you’re a real space fan!
