420 Vancouver 2012

April 20th, better known as “4/20” is the globally recognized “International Pot Day” where the estimated 250,000,000 members on this planet celebrate the cannabis culture by smoking pot.

Vancouver was the first city to actually celebrate and protest 4/20 back in 1995, and has been tradition all over the world ever since. The first few years, pot smokers would gather around Victory Park to smoke pot all day and listen to music, but as the crowd got larger year after year, the celebration takes place at the Vancouver Art Gallery.

Last year there were anywhere from 5,000 to 10,000 people at the art gallery, and once the time 4:20pm rolls around, crowds of 13,000 aren’t unheard of!

So for those of you who will be at the art gallery today, be sure to bring some munchies, you’ll need them!
