Dine Out Vancouver, the highly-anticipated festival kicks off Jan. 20th and runs until Feb. 5th.
The festival celebrates food by restaurants bringing an abundance of cuisine to the forefront by offering prix-fixe menus curated just for the event.
More than 200 restaurants scattered across Metro Vancouver will be participating in this year’s festival—some of which are located on Granville Island.

As the first Afghan restaurant in Canada, they have held their reputation for being one of the best and most authentic local places for over 40 years. The dine out menu is for dinner only, costs $20 and includes:
Appetizer: Salad (mixed greens, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and feta cheese) or Potato Boulany (wheat crust stuffed with potatoes, sautéed onions and herbs) or Hummus (served with pita bread).
Entrée: Baked rice with kabuli, stewed vegetables, potato pakwra, with your choice of one of the following: Baked lamb shank, Lamb Shoulder or Chicken Kebab. Alternative is baked rice with kabuli, potato pakwra, with your choice of two of the following: Bedenjan borni (eggplant), Dahl (Lentil stew) or Aushak (ravioli).
Dessert: Firni – milk pudding with cardamom spice and pistachios.

Serving fresh seafood, this is the place to be if you are craving fish. The dine out menu is for lunch ($29) and dinner ($40). The dinner menu includes:
Appetizer: VFC seafood chowder (fresh seafood, fresh clams, thyme cream, bacon) or Humboldt Squid Salad (grilled local humobldt squid, arugula, roasted tomato, fresh herbs, preserved lemon vinaigrette, black olive tuile) or Maple Walnut Prawns (seaweed salad, maple, spiced walnuts).
Entrée: Thai Chicken Curry (braised chicken, scented basmati rice, coconut curry sauce, julienne vegetables, roasted peanuts, cilantro) or Crab-Stuffed Sole Wellington (sole, crab meat, cream cheese, puff pastry, braised kale, lobster) or Steak Oscar (seared skirt steak, crab meat, baby shrimp, farm vegetables, garlic confit mashed potatoes, bernaise, peppercorn jus).
