It’s never too early to start planning your next camping adventure.
BC Parks has made some amendments to their system; making campsite reservations available now for the 2017 season.
Several other changes were made to the reservations system to ensure there is fair access for everyone looking to book a campsite at one of BC’s world-class provincial parks.
These adjustments include the following:
“We want to make sure the campsite reservation service is doing its job as effectively and efficiently as possible. We know British Columbians want a reservation system that is fair, and that they have just as good a chance of securing a campsite as the next person. The changes we’re bringing in for 2017 address policies that are prone to abuse by a small number of people and contribute to positive camping experiences in our beautiful BC Parks,” said Mary Polak, Minister of Environment.
Demand for BC Parks campsite reservations through Discover Camping has increased by over 91% in the last five years. There were over 185,000 reservations made at BC Parks in 2016, making it a record year.
Given that this year is Canada’s 150th anniversary, it will likely be a busy camping season, with explorers wanting to venture out and see all of the stunning parks BC has to offer.
