The current snowy weather has forced the closure of HOV lanes on the Port Mann bridge during off-peak hours until further notice.

According to bridge management, crews will use the lane closures to work above and reset snow collars on the bridge’s cables.

Alongside the Alex Fraser Bridge, the Port Mann has faced numerous closures within the past month due to dangerous conditions and reports of falling ice bombs.

According to a statement from bridge management, it’s going to take a number of days to get all the collars reloaded to the top of the tower.

Fortunately for motorists, HOV discounts will still be applied during lane closures.
