Just as the name foreshadows, the Juxtapoz x Superflat exhibition will contrast your usual notions of art, with pieces that don’t exactly fit into traditional categories of art and production.
The exhibit will be showcase more than 30 artists from around the world, including Japan, China, Korea, Europe, the United States, and Canada.
By stepping into the Vancouver Art Gallery, you’ll be transported into a unique realm of contemporary art and how it coexists in cultural life.
Conceived by renowned Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and co-curated with Evan Pricco, the Editor-in-Chief of Juxtapoz Art & Culture – a magazine based out of San Francisco, the exhibit will have a have a large focus on art outside of the global art world.
This ain’t your typical art show. Artists will display pieces that portray sub-cultures, such as skate, surf, graffiti, street art, comics, design, illustration, painting, and digital and traditional arts.
The magical exhibition runs from November 5th until February 5th, and will include artwork by the following artists:
